How to reduce back pain in 5 quick steps

Men or women, most of us suffer from back pain at some point during our lives. However, women are slightly more prone to experiencing back pain problems due to their weaker muscle structures which causes posture problems and ultimately lead to suffering from back pain.

There are easy things that one can do to avoid the back pain or reduce its effects if they are already suffering from back pain. Here are 5 quick steps to help you fight against the ache:

1- Eat broccoli: Vitamin K, which is abundant in broccoli, is as important as the calcium for stronger bones. According to the scientists, the vitamin K, which is found in broccoli, spinach, and some other dark leafy greens, helps calcium deposit in the bones and make them denser. Having stronger bones is one of the key factors which will keep the back pain away from you.

2- Sleep well: Against the common belief that harder beds will reduce the back pain, scientists say that people sleeping on softer beds report reduced amount of back pain and stiffness. Choosing the right bed can help you avoid the back pain when accompanied by a regular lifestyle and staying away from the night life. So make sure you go to bed on time every night and have a good sleep on your favorite bed.

3- Avoid carrying heavy things: If you are suffering from chronic back pain, carrying heavy things or weight lifting is not for you. This includes your handbag or briefcase if they are too heavy as well. If you really need to carry heavy handbags and briefcases, be sure to carry it in a balanced way without leaning towards one side. Leaning too much on your right or left due to carrying heavy loads may cause posture problems and back pain in the long run.

4- Tighten your abs:Heaving strong muscles in your belly area will no wonder keep you away from back pain. So keep working out your abs. Working out 2 or 3 times to strengthen your abs will positively affect your posture, thus reduce the back pain dramatically.

5- Keep a healthy posture whatever you do: Spending long hours in front of the PC may cause back pain even for the healthiest person if a healthy sitting position is not incorporated. While sitting on your chair, make sure you have a soft pillow between your back and the chair and keep your both feet flat on the floor. Keeping a healthy posture during your daily occupations will reduce the risk of having back pain problems caused by an unhealthy posture.
